Duba Plains Camp Botswana
Duba Plains Camp lies in the most remote reaches of the Okavango Delta, Botswana, in an area renowned for the endless conflict between prides of lions and the herds of buffalo which sustain them. The award-winning National Geographic documentary Relentless Enemies chronicled this battle for survival. Duba Plains Camp is an unobtrusive camp surrounded by expanses of seasonally flooded plains and shaded by tall ebony, sycamore fig and mangosteen trees.
Accommodation at Duba Plains Camp consists of six roomy tents with en-suite bathrooms, outside showers and verandas with panoramic vistas of the Okavango Delta floodplains. The thatched lounge, dining and bar areas are raised along with the pool on wooden platforms to better appreciate the breathtaking views.
A luxury African safari at Duba Plains Camp starts by tracking down one of the mammoth buffalo herds to see whether the lions are on the prowl.
But Duba Plains Camp has more to offer than just lion and buffalo, with herds of elephant feeding on the islands and hippo wading out into the deeper channels. Tsessebe and blue wildebeest dot the plains, while red lechwe are found on the fringe of the wetter floodplains. Spotted hyena can also be seen in their own age-old conflict with the lions.
Largely a land-activity focused camp.

NG23 - Duba Plains
Duba Plains Camp is located in one of the most isolated regions of the Okavango Delta, Botswana, on a private 30,000 hectare concession known locally as the Kwedi Reserve.
Situated on one of the low, sandy islands common to this region, Duba Plains Camp is surrounded by a wide variety of landscapes. From vast open floodplains and grasslands which are often isolated from the mainland by deep waterways to dense mopane bushveld and savannah. Guests to Duba Plains Camp experience spectacular game viewing and birding all year round.
The Okavango Delta has this rich diversity of habitats and lush fertile grasses as a result of year-round availability of water, with the summer rains and winter floods stimulating the environment. Duba Plains Camp supports an abundance of wildlife which is unique even to the pristine and scenic backdrop of the iconic Okavango Delta.
Every aspect of the wildlife at Duba Plains Camp fascinates. The region has two prides of lions which compete in the hunt every day. The battle for survival between the lions is as stirring as the plight of the thousands of buffalo. When the lions hunt by day they provide guests with incredible photo opportunities.
Aardwolf sightings are one of the specialities of Duba Plains Camp, along with the occasional glimpse of caracal. Red lechwe, elephant, tsessebe and warthog share this savannah landscape and hippo concentrate in the deeper channels. The area often has productive spotted hyena dens that offer unique hyena pup viewing, whilst leopards can be found on the forested islands.
